Community Health Data and Reports

The CATCH system (Comprehensive Assessment for Community Health)
is a free data tool available to communities throughout North Carolina. This
is the most comprehensive data system ever created in NC.
Use CATCH to:
+ View data by county on hundreds of health indicators. The CATCH system
puts many different databases at your fingertips including hospital discharge
data, vital statistics, the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, and
much more.
+ For any one indicator, click on the item to get to the County Specific
Information Sheet. See graphs to learn more about trends in our county,
differences by race, and more.
Additional features will be added to CATCH later in 2009. For example,
users will be able to drill down by community within the county, by census
tract within the community, by race and age within each census tract for each
of the hundreds of health indicators listed. You will also be able to see
maps by state, county and even census tract for each of the health indicators.

Buncombe County Community Health Assessment is a year-long process that engages
community residents, leaders and health professionals in examining the evidence and selecting the top
health priorities for Buncombe County. It is conducted every 4 years by the Buncombe County Department of
Health and Health Partners with input from many residents and organizations.
